Bluffington is a luxurious neighborhood of beauty near Westlake Drive to the west and Zilker Park to the south. The homes are all on or near Stratford Drive that runs along Lady Bird Lake. Many of the homes have access to the water, however, motor boats are not allowed on this part of the river. Canoes, kayaks and row boats are allowed, but excessive noise is a no-no. Some of the homes sit high on a ridge and overlook the Austin skyline.
Since Stratford connects to Zilker Park, jogging, biking and just ambling along the hike and bike trail is almost in their backyard. On the other side of the dam at the low water crossing, motorized boats are allowed. There are a couple of marinas near Hula Hut and Mozarts. Hula Hut is a great place for happy hour. They have an outside dining area overlooking the lake. Their food is a mixture of Tex Mex and Asian. It’s better than it sounds. Mozart’s is a coffee house with great desserts. They also have an outside deck with live music.
