Mount Bonnell Shores is located off Mt. Bonnell Rd a few blocks south of 2222. The neighborhood can be accessed from Tortuga Trail, which is the main entrance and exit. With such easy access to 2222, you shave precious minutes off your daily drive. Being in the middle of 360 and MoPac, you’ll be able to choose which freeway to take depending on that day’s traffic.
Things to Do Near Mount Bonnell Shores
If you like hiking, you should try one of the guided hikes at Bright Leaf Preserve. On the second weekend of each month, park experts give a four mile tour of the 200 acre park. If 4 miles is too much, they also plan shorter hikes. If tennis and golf are more your style, join the Austin Country Club. Founded in 1899, it’s one of Austin’s oldest clubs and features an 18 hole course designed by Pete Dye, 10 lighted tennis courts (2 of which are clay), heated swimming pool, fitness facility, boat slips and a large clubhouse with meeting rooms and dining areas.
