Lakewood is a small, close-knit neighborhood with a clubhouse, playground, tennis courts, and swimming pool. It sits just below Jester Estates in the Bull Creek valley. Many of the original homes are smaller with smaller yards. There are also condominiums and garden homes here. These homes were primarily built in the 80′s and 90′s.

What to do in Lakewood

It is near Lake Austin and the water sports that abound there. City Park is across RR 2222 and has camp sites, a roped off swimming area, and a place to launch a boat. Bull Creek Park with all of its trails is across Loop 360. Wading in Bull Creek or catching tadpoles is a fun activity for the kids. The clubhouse can be reserved for parties and special occasions. Bicycling is one of Austinites’ favorite past times, and Loop 360 is one of the best routes. There are some off road trails for mountain biking nearby also. Then there’s shopping. To the north, the Arboretum and The Domain have shops to satisfy the spending bug.  From up-scale shops to discount stores, you can find it here.
Since this neighborhood is located on Loop 360, it is convenient to travel to most areas of town.
