Ledge Stone is a newer gated neighborhood located in Southwest Austin off of Hwy 290 on the way to Dripping Springs. It is in the ETJ of Dripping Springs, not in the city limits. This neighborhood is approximately 6 miles from the ‘Y’ in Oak Hill. The community is in Hays County but has an Austin mailing address and an Austin phone number. Students living in this area attend the Dripping Springs schools.

For basic grocery shopping, residents of Ledge Stone can drive about 6 miles towards Austin to the H.E.B. in Oak Hill or to the newer H.E.B. in Escarpment Village. There is plenty of other shopping and eating at the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Caves (about 12 miles) and at the Barton Creek Mall (about 12 miles). One of the nearby popular places for both food and entertainment is Nutty Brown Café just off Hwy 290.
