Hielscher is a popular neighborhood for families because of its great public schools (Clayton Elementary School is Exemplary), neighborhood amenities and value. Hielscher was first developed in 1998, so the landscaping has had a chance to develop while the homes remain fairly new. Hielscher is located in Circle C West in Southwest Austin’s 78739 zip code. You can get to Hielscher from LaCrosse Ave, which is off Escarpment Blvd or Spruce Canyon Drive, which is off FM 1826. Easy access to MoPac makes commuting north and south convenient. Only about seven miles from Downtown Austin, you can usually make the trip in 20 minutes. If you’re a professional working Downtown but want a family oriented neighborhood to call home, you may want to consider Hielscher.
Things to Do in Hielscher
The Circle C Swim Center is a popular spot for residents during the spring and summer. So much so, that Circle C is planning to add another community pool in the coming months. The Circle C Tennis Club has 8 courts and a pro shop, so you can usually get a court. Grey Rock Golf Course is an 18 hole public, championship course and is located just a few miles away. If you’re into hiking, you should check out Slaughter Creek Park’s 3 mile trail or any of the 450 acres of dedicated parkland around Circle C.
