Round Rock Homes for Sale
Round Rock
Round Rock is rich with history, originally named Brushy because of its location on Brushy Creek. The city is located on the Chisholm Trail or what was a feeder road off the main Trail. It was a route for moving cattle and goods to and from the Midwest. This town is also known for the infamous robber Sam Bass, who only started robbing trains and stages after he went broke trying to mine gold. He was killed in a shootout and is buried in the Round Rock Cemetery. And yes, there is an actual round rock located in Brushy Creek which is one of Round Rock’s most visited spots.
We now have a great site that has a strong focus on just Round Rock homes.
What to do in Round Rock
Round Rock hosts many of the sporting events that occur in Central Texas and is self-titled the Sports Capital of Texas. The Dell Diamond is a major draw to the area, home to Nolan Ryan’s Triple A baseball team, the Round Rock Express (an affiliate of the Houston Astros). Many events of all kinds happen at Old Settler’s Park which is located behind the Dell Diamond. There are many baseball fields, soccer fields, playscapes, picnic areas, hike and bike trails, along with a water park in this area. There is talk of a sports complex for athletic competitions but that is still in the works. If sports are not your thing, the Premier Outlet Mall is convenient and offers a wide variety of major brands. Then there is IKEA, JC Penney, La Frontera, Sam’s, World Market and many other wonderful places to shop. When it comes to food, Round Rock has all the chain restaurants but there are many locally owned eateries such as Gumbo’s, Main Street Grill, Rio Grande, Gino’s and 620 Café. There is something for everyone.
