Karen has been an Austin resident since 1984 when she relocated from the East Coast. She periodically visits “Back East,” but says “Austin is the only city in the U.S. I would even consider living in.”She was raised on the South Shore of Long Island, New York, where she cultivated a love of sailing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and subsequently earned a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the same institution.
Karen worked for Lockheed Austin and later for Lockheed Martin where she developed software mission planning systems for the Combined Air Forces. Her work there afforded her the opportunity to travel quite a bit in the U.S.A. and in Western Europe. Her knowledge of computers gives her an edge in the real estate business that is of great benefit to her clients.
After transitioning to Real Estate in 2001, Karen obtained her broker’s license in 2008. She has earned the GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and E-PRO designations, and currently serves on the Austin Board of Realtors Professional Development Committee.
