Allandale Homes and Real Estate

Allandale is one of many subdivisions in the Austin Texas metropolitan area. It is bounded by Anderson Lane on the north, by Shoal Creek at 45th Street (from MoPac to the Shoal Creek waterway, and following the waterway to Hancock Drive) to the south, with Burnet Road as its eastern boundary and MoPac as the western boundary. Allandale is served by the Austin Independent School District and Allandale Neighborhood Association.

Allandale

Allandale is an eclectic neighborhood in north central Austin dating back to the 1950’s and 60’s. Many of the homes in Allandale were built in the mid century era giving the area many characteristics indicative of that time period. The area has experienced growth over the years and as a result you see a pretty good variety of home styles. One of the great aspects of Allandale is it’s location. Many of Austin’s favorite hangouts call Allandale home.

Allandale Shopping and Dining

Located near Koenig Lane and Burnet Road, Allandale benefits from a large and diverse mix of retail and commercial establishments. From Amy’s Ice Cream to a variety of vintage shopping spots and coffee shops, Allandale truly has a mix and variety to fit just about anyone. Along Burnet Road you’ll see loads of vintage shopping spots, many featuring the trendy mid century modern furnishings. Other favorites in this area are places like Yarbrough Public Library and some smaller galleries and wine bars that have recently made an appearance.

Allandale Community Features

Allandale spans along Burnet Road from Koenig to North Loop. The area is quite diverse and often blends with other communities such as Rosedale. You’ll notice many of the commercial establishments here have that mid century feel about them. That’s because not only were several homes in this area built up around that time but much of the commercial establishments took root in that era.
