Lago Vista has seen many changes the past couple decades. During the first decade of the 21st century, Lago Vista population has grown nearly 50%. There are now businesses in town that were not here ten or even five years ago. Grocery and drug stores are now here, complementing existing businesses such as fitness, computer repair, restaurants, and boutiques.

Lago Vista has also seen its number of public and private recreation offerings increase. There are eight water’s edge POA parks along the shore of Lake Travis, an airport in the north part of town and a landing strip in the south. There are new high-end lakefront developments north and south and as much walking/biking/hiking, golf, tennis, water recreation and hunting to satisfy anyone. If you own a boat, you can store it at one of the two marinas, and when it needs repair, there is marine service here. Dry storage is also available around town.
Lago Vista Golf
If you are a golfer, you have choices in Lago Vista: Marshall Ranch Golf Course (private), Highland Lakes Country Club (public), and Lago Vista Country Club (private) and pool. A public pool is located in the north part of town at the Lago Vista Sports Complex. Here you will also find softball, baseball, and tennis in a beautiful setting with the Texas Hill Country and Lake Travis as a backdrop.
Lago Vista Accessibility
Lago Vista is accessible only via FM 1431. From it are a number of roads into town, Lohman Ford Road principal among them. It is the center point between the north and south parts of town. Of course, Lago Vista is always accessible by boat on Lake Travis and was the site for the national Aquapalooza in July 2010 which drew 60,000 boats and their crews for a few days of entertainment and fun.
