Katy Crossing was named for the place where the Missouri, Texas and Kansas Company railroad crossed the San Gabriel River.  In the late 1800s the roads were terrible and many people didn’t own a vehicle, so they rode the rails and transported materials, cattle and other necessities by train.  Today, we aren’t in the habit of taking a train but the history lives on.  Katy Crossing is a mix of first-time home buyers, empty nesters and families.  It is a little neighborhood representative of Georgetown, TX.
