I worked many years in those areas and attended ACC and St. Edward’s University gaining the education I needed to improve my skills in those fields. After a 15+ year stint in the corporate world, I decided to take a hiatus and enjoy life with my retired husband for a couple years. We traveled around the country, enjoying people, places and RV-ing. Following that refreshing break, I began my work in real estate in 2001 working as an assistant to two separate Brokers. I discovered I had a great interest in real estate and particularly in helping individuals meet their goals of home ownership, the sale of their home or business as well as finding lease properties. I had bought and sold real estate several times and more recently invested in rental properties so I became well familiarized with real estate transactions and how the process should and should not transpire! I knew this was an area in which I could help others. In early 2007 I finished my real estate instruction and became a licensed REALTOR®.

Fortunately, I love what I do and do it whole-heartedly. I am continually adding to my education in the real estate field by attending classes, seminars and conferences. Karen has been an Austin resident since 1984 when she relocated from the East Coast. She periodically visits “Back East,” but says “Austin is the only city in the U.S. I would even consider living in.”

She was raised on the South Shore of Long Island, New York, where she cultivated a love of sailing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and subsequently earned a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the same institution.

Karen worked for Lockheed Austin and later for Lockheed Martin where she developed software mission planning systems for the Combined Air Forces. I worked first as an Electrical Engineer for a Regional Utility Company and then as a Project Manager / Site Acquisition Manager for O2, the UK’s leading cell phone operator.
