Where is Delwood Neighborhood?

Delwood neighborhood was built in four phases from 1946 to 1965 on the east side of IH35. Phases I and II are situated immediately east of IH35 on the north and south sides of Airport Boulevard in the 78722 zip code. Delwood III and IV are slightly north of the original sections in the 78723 zip code. Located north of 51st Street and east of IH 35, these areas are east of Cameron Road, south of Northridge Drive and straddle east and west of Berkman Drive

Homes in Delwood Neighborhood

Homes in Delwood Phase I are generally pier and beam construction with either wood frame or limestone siding. Phase II homes are a mix of both pier and beam and slab foundations with many of them being built of the Mexican volcanic-ash blocks that were both economical and provided excellent construction materials for our climate. Delwood Phase III and IV are larger and are on larger lots. With their brick and/or wood frame construction, open floor plans and ranch-style exteriors, the homes in Delwood are charming and distinctive examples of mid-century modern homes in Austin.
