West End is a great location for those looking to live close to downtown Austin, but still wanting to be part of a neighborhood. This little Austin gem of a community is often referred to as Clarksville, which is its neighboring community, and also Old West Austin. As the later name refers, West End is one of Austin’s original communities, so it is not easily defined when searching for a home the way newer communities are.
