Ridgetop boasts smaller houses – usually 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1,200 sq ft homes built in the 40s and 50s. Ridgetop attracts a lot of young families because of Ridgetop Elementary School’s Recognized TEA status as well as doctors and nurses working in one of Austin’s four nearby hospitals. Where is Ridgetop?
Ridgetop is nestled between Airport Blvd, Koenig Lane, I 35 and 45th Street in the northeast corner of Central Austin. Three major arteries enter Ridgetop: Koenig, 51st and 45th allowing traffic to move easily. Residents commuting north and south can do so with easy access to I-35 from 45th and Koenig Lane. Ridgetop is also a good location for doctors or medical professionals working at Seton Medical Center as its just a mile or so east on 45th.

Ridgetop is one of the more walkable Central Austin neighborhoods. Residents can walk to House Pizzeria for dinner, Flightpath Coffeehouse for a relaxing afternoon or the Coldtowne Theater for a unique night of improv and sketch comedy. Those who like to golf head to Hancock Public Golf Course where you can play golf without paying the huge monthly fees of a country club. On temperate Wednesday nights you can head to Shipe Park for a free yoga class.
