River Crossing is one of the Savine developments scattered through out Bastrop County offering estate sized lots. River Crossing is a horse friendly subdivision and many of the beautiful properties in River Crossing do have horse facilities that include barns and turnouts with horse friendly fencing. The subdivision has paved roads throughout. Residents of River Crossing are kept in the know about home owners board meetings and special events on the association billboard that is located just inside the main gate. The River Crossing entry is located just off of a portion of Old Highway 71, which is now a loop with access on the north side of the present day Highway 71. The location of the subdivision provides great access to Austin to the northeast and Bastrop to the southwest. River Crossing is considered part of the Cedar Creek community. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is just about ten minutes from River Crossing.
River Crossing Groceries, Gas, and Grub
The nearest full grocery stores are about 15 minutes away in Bastrop. Or you can head the other direction and shop at the large box stores or at the large organic markets scattered thoughout Austin. Cedar Creek and Bastrop both have farmer’s markets. If you are looking for a cup of coffee there is an independent coffee house right in Cedar Creek or a little further down the road you will find a national coffee icon. Restaurants nearby in Cedar Creek include Thai food and Bar B Que. Bastrop has quite a few restaurants to choose from and of course there is always the Hyatt Regency Firehouse for a great meal right there in Cedar Creek. Gas stations are plentiful along Highway 71 and most all of them have a convenience store attached .
