About Cedar Creek TX
Cedar Creek is a community located off of HWY. 71 and 21 on the way to Bastrop. Like a lot of small communities around the Austin area, Bastrop has seen tremendous growth this last decade, especially the area of Cedar Creek. Cedar Creek itself is located just a few miles south on Hwy. 21 but it encompasses a large area around HWY 71 and 21. There are a few churches that have been there for many years, one or two convenience stores, and odds and ends of family-style cafes and BBQ stands.

Now you can add numerous restaurants and businesses along HWY 71, both local and franchise stores. Along HWY 21 is a dollar store, a large and modern post office, an elementary school, intermediate and middle school. There is a recently built, up-to-date athletic facility already in use. Cedar Creek High School is projected to open in the Fall of 2010 and is located on HWY 71 at Pope Bend Road.

Cedar Creek begins about halfway between Austin and Bastrop on HWY 71, continuing south on HWY 21. With the continued growth and expansion along HWY 71, the gap between Austin and Bastrop is slowly closing. Both HWY 71 and 21 are major roadways for travelers to and from Houston, or travelers wanting to pick up HWY 183 or I-35 without going through Austin. The expansion and updating on both of these roadways has greatly added to the growth of Cedar Creek and this area of Bastrop County.
