Wimberley land sales remain strong
Posted by Stephen Hysinger on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 at 10:38am.Wimberley land values show continued stregnth (in sales price) through 2008 and into the new year. Across the board, from less than one acre lots to 20-50 acre ranchettes, land prices have held steady in price per acre around Wimberley. Overall volume increased from 108 sales in 2007 to 118 in 2008. Less than one acre lots have seen significant jump in volume sold from 30 lots in 2007 to 52 lots in 2008 as well as price increase from $13,637 in 2007 to $18,771 in 2008. This may indicate the willingness of new home builders to speculate on the Wimberley economy. Number of tracts sold is very much a mixed bag with less than one acre and 10-20 acre tracts showing large increases and 1-5 acre and 5-10 acre tracts showing significant decreases. Price per acre for all size tracts has remained right at year ago with some increases. One to five acre tracts are averaging $29,456/acre vs $29,670 in 2007. Five to ten acre tracts are at $19,165/acre vs $19,462/acre in 2007. Ten to twenty acre tracts are at $15,509/acre vs $15,042 in 2007 and twenty to fifty acre tracts saw a large increase in 2008 at $16,105/acre vs $11,670/acre in 2007. All in all wimberley land sales are standing strong in difficult economic times.

Wimberley is a lovely quaint town, the local artists there make it a special place to visit.
