My career in real estate began in 1989 and my area of specialization has been Cedar Park-Leander.  Although I know Austin extremely well having lived here since 1963, I have specialized in the Cedar Park-Leander area as the population grew from 8,000 in 1990 to approximately 85,000 in 2008.

My experience and my education (all those initials behind my name signify education accomplishments) as a Real Estate Broker allows me to represent my clients without hesitation.  Don't think I am stuffy with all this education and experience because my work provides all the fun I could ever ask for.

I am a born and raised Texan and a very enthusiastic Austinite.

Is Block House Creek Changing?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 at 1:40pm. 47 Views, 1 Comments.

Back in September 2009, I wrote a blog indicating that Block House Creek is Changing.  I wrote this after I received a letter from the Mud Board saying a survey would be mailed to residents to choose which we wanted for our mailing address, Cedar Park or Leander.

The residents had completed a survey years before to choose our mailing address since we are not in either city but rather Williamson County. I voted for Cedar Park since we are in their ETJ.  However, the majority of the residents voted for Leander.

The recent letter that I received indicated that the MUD board along with postal officials were favoring Cedar Park. I jumped to the conclusion that Cedar Park would win in this survey.

The survey results showed that the majority of the residents want…

Metro Rail Update

Friday, December 11th, 2009 at 11:35am. 57 Views, 0 Comments.

For about a year now, I have been writing updates on the commuter rail, metro rail and now I am hearing the term "redline" used to define the new rail line running from Leander to downtown Austin near the convention center.

I have shared "opening day" news several times only to learn that the exciting day would be postponed again. I am sure that many people are as frustrated as I am with the opening date for this venture that surely will happen.....someday.

The latest news is that it should be running the first quarter of 2010. I have read all the reasons that it would not be open on dates that were announced previously. The bottom line of those reasons seemed to be someone else's fault. The latest reason prompted the firing of the company that would operate…

Hill Country Flyer in Cedar Park

Monday, November 30th, 2009 at 10:32pm. 92 Views, 0 Comments.

If you like steam trains, you may want to check out the Cedar Park Flyer at the train station in Cedar Park. Tickets are available in the station office across from the boarding platform located at 401 E RM 1431/Whitestone Blvd, just west of the Best Western Motel or you may purchase them online at http://www.austinsteamtrain.org/sched.html#generalinformation

Ticket prices depend on the class of car that you choose for your trip.  There are three classes of cars-coach, excursion and lounge. With the coach fare, you will be in one of their 1920's cars. These cars have an aisle with seats on both sides.  They are not climate controlled but they do have windows that open and close. These cars are ideal for those who want lots of fresh air and, perhaps,…

Quest Village is a neighborhood in downtown Cedar Park. It is located off of 183 and FM 1431, directly south of the City office buildings on Discovery Blvd.

Cedar Park Public Library is within walking distance, along with other small strip centers. It is possible to live in this neighborhood and have the option of walking short distances to supply all your daily needs.

Homes in Quest Village were built by D. R. Horton and  the neighborhood is fairly wooded. The prices in this neighborhood are very affordable ranging from the mid $150's upward to around $200K.

For those people not familiar with Cedar Park, it is a fabulous suburb northwest of Austin. In fact, the south end of Cedar Park is across the street from Austin at RR 620 N. At this location is…

Friday, November 27th, 2009 at 10:59pm. 54 Views, 0 Comments.

Buttercup Creek is a master planned community in Cedar Park and was first developed in 1986. The lawns and trees are now well established and it is a very wooded neighborhood.

The neighborhood was finished out in the mid to late '90's. There were several builders throughout the community so there are a variety of home styles. In a neighborhood like Buttercup Creek, there is usually something for everyone. There are small homes with great designs as well as large homes that will appeal to larger families.

There are parks and sport courts scattered throughout the neighborhood. The amenity center has a beautiful pool and the tennis courts are also near the pool area in a wooded section. While driving through Buttercup Creek on the week-ends, you may see…

Summerlyn is a neighborhood north of Leander and the two builders are Pulte and Lennar. Each builder has his own section of the community.

Going north on 183 from Leander, the first section of the neighborhood is the Pulte section. This section is also the location for the amenity center. It is a beautiful wooded area and there is a playground and a gorgeous pool. There is a beautiful stand of oak trees upon entering the amenity area.  There is a parking lot and a bike stand. It is an amenity center to be proud of.

The Lennar section has its' own entry off of 183 just north of the Pulte section or it can be entered through the Pulte section of the community as well. This is an all electric community and the agents for the Builders there in the community will…

Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 2:39pm. 53 Views, 0 Comments.

If you have not seen Deer Creek Ranch at the western edge of Cedar Park, you really should take a look at it. Deer Creek has several sections and each one has its' own reasons for being very desireable.

Deer Creek is located on Anderson Mill Road just south of Cypress Creek Road. This whole area is beautiful and if you like nature, you will love this part of Cedar Park.

The first section is just gorgeous. What a great place to live if you enjoy taking walks through beautiful scenery. These are upscale homes with amenities that match the trends of today such as beautiful kitchens with granite counters, absolutely gorgeous cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms are also gorgeous with cultured marble fixtures, separate showers and huge closets…

Bella Vista Is Beautiful

Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 1:48pm. 41 Views, 0 Comments.

Bella Vista is an upscale neighborhood on the western edge of Cedar Park. The uniqueness of Bella Vista is that is has large estate sized lots. The neighborhood is fairly wooded and at the northwestern edge of the community, there are some fabulous hill country views.

Bella Vista has two sections, one section has Wilshire homes and the other one has Pulte homes.  There are a few Pulte homes in the Wilshire section but they are not on the large estate sized lots. This blog deals primarily with the Wilshire section.

The streets are curvy and the area has rolling hill streets. The Wilshire homes are gorgeous and the majority of them are very large. What I really love about these homes is that they all have soaring ceilings and very large windows. It seems to me…
