I have lived in Austin for more than 30 years and have watched the growth in all parts of town. Austin used to have a law that would not allow any building downtown to be taller than the State Capitol. That has changed, and now the Capitol is barely noticeable except from Congress Avenue. As a REALTOR, I love to help my clients find the house of their dreams. It is always gratifying to see the look on a buyer's face when they walk into a home that they want to live in. It is also gratifying to help a seller navigate through the sale of their home. Whether you are buying or selling your home, I would like to get to know you and help you with one of the most important decisions of your life. Please give me a call if you have any questions, or would like to visit some homes in person. Visit my website: http://DottiDriver.com

Summit at West Rim
Monday, July 20th, 2009 at 1:40pm. 120 Views, 0 Comments.
The Summit at West Rim is in Westlake Hills off of Westlake Drive. The 2 main roads off of Westlake Drive are River Garden Trail and Mount Larson. These two roads climb up the mountain to some spectacular views of the river and downtown Austin. The views are million dollar views, so the homes built on the view lots are well over a million dollars. What I like about this area is being able to watch the water activites without the noise of living directly on the water. I have lived on the water and also lived in a house that had a view of the water from afar. My sons liked being on the water, but I preferred the view only. You can drive to this area from either 360 to Westlake Drive or from Bee Caves Road to Westlake Drive. Radio towers that can be…
Taylor Texas Rattlesnake Roundup
Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at 12:23pm. 283 Views, 3 Comments.
Taylor is a small town about 30 miles northeast of Austin. It is known for it's barbeque and the Junior Chamber of Commerce's Rattlesnake Roundup. Being the mother of 3 sons, I have been to the rattlesnake roundup many times. Attending this 'slice of Texas' event has somewhat alleviated my snake phobia. In the early spring, usually March or April, the rattlesnakes are rounded up for the fair. The proceeds from the fair goes to charity. There is a carnival with rides, an arts and crafts fair, and the rattlesnake competition. You can buy rattlesnake purses, shoes, paperweights and all sorts of other snake odds and ends at this fair. By far, the main attraction is the competition. Taylorites take this very seriously. There are bleachers for the…
Watersedge Subdivision

Watersedge subdivision is a small gated community of custom built luxury homes located on the north side of Lake Austin. Most of the homes are waterfront with large lots of an acre or more. It's down the road from Mt. Bonnell Park. Mt. Bonnell Road is a winding two lane road that meanders from RR 2222 to Balcones Drive. Mt. Bonnell Park is at the top of the hill and offers spectacular views of the river and downtown Austin. It is worth the climb up the steps to sit and watch the boats and water skiers skim by far below.

The Courtyard Subdivision is located on the north side of Lake Austin close to the 360 bridge. It has a private gated lakeside park on Bull Creek that contains picnic tables, barbeque pits, day dock and hiking trails. There is a private boat launch across the creek next to The County Line Barbeque Restaurant. Many of the homes in this neighborhood have private boat docks on Bull Creek, which empties into Lake Austin. That gives you the convenience of being on the lake without the noise. Homeowners play and swim in the creek. Tennis is king in this subdivision. The Courtyard Tennis Club is a private club with separate membership and dues and has 16 lighted tennis courts. It also has a clubhouse and swimming pool. Homes in this neighborhood range…

The subdivision of Lakewood is located just west of highway 360 and just north of Ranch Road 2222 and south of highway 183. You can easily get to all parts of town from here. It is a tight knit community with smaller homes for retirees and young marrieds, to larger homes for families. There is a very nice Homeowners park with 3 tennis courts, clubhouse, playscape, and swimming pool. Hill Elementary is a blue ribbon school for the children who live here. Murchison Middle School and Anderson High School are the other schools assigned to this neighborhood. Nearby is The County Line, a barbeque restaurant--one of my personal favorites. I also like Siena Ristorante Toscana. I can close my eyes and imagine that I'm in Tuscany, also the food is good. …

Lost Creek subdivision was begun in the late 70's on the western side of the city in what is known as the hill country. Barton Creek runs through the subdivision so many of the homes have hill country, creek, or golf course views. Many of the activities in this neighborhood revolve around the Lost Creek Country Club. Whether you enjoy a game of tennis or golf, you will be pleased with the quality offered at this club. They also have an excellent swim team for the kids in the summer. Allandale Neighborhood
Thursday, July 10th, 2008 at 6:22pm. 301 Views, 1 Comments.
Allandale used to be considered as being in Northwest Austin. Now, since the city has grown so much, it is in Central Austin. Gullett Elementary School is on Treadwell Blvd and is an excellent school. Lamar Middle School and McCallum High School are the other neighborhood schools. McCallum is an arts magnet school. This neighborhood has tree lined streets and plenty of activities for families. Beverly Sheffield Park is set along Shoal Creek and is a great spot for birthday parties, office picnics or just playing with your kids. There is a little pond that has ducks, so bring along some bread and let the children have fun feeding them. There is also an olympic sized swimming pool, wading pool, tennis courts and playscape. Northwest Little League park…
Lake Austin

Lake Austin is really the Colorado River that runs through Austin. It is the stretch of river between Tom Miller Dam and Mansfield Dam. There are 5 waterfront parks along this stretch of the river, the largest being Emma Long Metropolitan Park ,also known as City Park. Boating is a favorite activity here. It's fun to ride down the river and look at the multimillion dollar homes that dot the shores. Water skiing is also popular because of the smooth clear water, although it can be cold if you fall. The water in this part of the river comes from the bottom of Mansfield Dam, so the closer to the dam you are, the colder the water. That's a good thing in the hot summers of Austin. Lake Austin Spa is on the lake near Mansfield Dam. It's a great place to…

The Onion Creek subdivision is located just 6 miles south of Austin on IH 35. It is within easy access to downtown Austin and also just a short drive to San Marcos. Texas State University and the San Marcos outlet malls are an easy drive from here. Onion Creek is known for its 18 hole golf course built in the mid 70's and designed by golfing great Jimmy Demaret. The lifestyle here is resort style living and the largest group of homeowners are retirees. It is also a very family friendly neighborhood and the children go to Austin Independent School District schools. Blazier Elementary, Paredes Middle School ,and Akins High School. The golf course is the main attraction, but the Onion Creek Club also has a very fine restaurant, swimming pool, gym and…

Northwest Hills is a very sought after neighborhood located inside the loop in North Austin. The loop is Highway 183, MoPac Blvd, and Loop 360. It is very near downtown Austin and is close to major highways to all parts of town. It is a neighborly neighborhood with lots of trees and sidewalks.
