Del Valle,Texas

In case you didn't notice. last night (Oct.7th) was National Night Out. This is a national program set up in local neighborhoods. Del Valle had one located at the local library in Elroy. The purpose is to promote goodwill and understanding among neighbors and local law enforcement. I had an opportunity to help host a night a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was nothing fancy, cookies and drinks. I had a chance to me my neighbors and actually talk to some of the deputies person to person. If you didn't get a chance to go this year, try next year. It really benefits everyone involved.

Last weekend I drove about 30 minutes east of Austin to Bastrop to go visit with my parents. I have a close personal connection to Bastrop. When I was a kid, my parents bought a house in downtown Bastrop and moved the family there from Austin. Bastrop is a small historic Texas town with old historic buildings lining Main Street and classic Victorian style homes scattered throughout the town.
As a kid growing up in Bastrop, I remember walking to school with my little sister. After school, we would stop by the little corner store, Tracy’s, and grab an ice cream or candy bar before heading home. On the weekends, we would ride our bikes through the streets with all the other kids and down to Fisherman’s Park.
I love how beautiful Bastrop is. Even though it has…

This last week I was previewing some of the vintage and historic homes on the market and I was so tickled by the wonderful fall/Halloween decorations that the residents had spent so much time putting up I took a few pictures to share with my friends, family, and Clients.
