Hwy 71 on one side of its property, Bee Caves on another and the 4,084 acre Barton Creek Habitat Preserve borders the rest of the land. This nature preserve protects wildlife in its natural state and is home to endangered species such as the golden cheek warbler. The HEB grocery store was conveniently built along Hwy 71 and right behind the Uplands. HEB’s clientele were continually driving through this peaceful neighborhood until HEB offered to make the Uplands a gated community, cutting off the traffic flow to non residents. Homes in the community are situated on large lots ranging in size from ½ acre to 3 acres and many offer their homeowners greenbelts or Hill Country views.
