Falconhead is another popular neighborhood in the Hill Country on the west side of Austin. This prime real estate development in zip code 78738 has two primary sections: Falconhead and Falconhead West. A newer section that has its entrance from US-71 west of Bee Cave at Vail Road. The development of Falconhead began in 2003 and is continuing in early 2010. Homes in Falconhead are definitely “upscale” when compared to most Austin-area neighborhoods. The average sales price of homes sold in this community in 2009 was nearly $460k. These homes ranged in size from just under 1,800 sq. ft. of living space to 4,600 sq. ft. Several companies are still building new construction homes in Falconhead and in Falconhead West.

The “crown jewel” of the Falconhead subdivision is the Falconhead Golf Club, the first PGA Tour Signature Series golf course in the country. In addition to its nice homes on and near the golf course, Falconhead features lots of trees and golf course and Hill Country views. The neighborhood is close to the Hill Country Galleria and other shopping in Bee Cave, and to the City of Lakeway and all it offers. The City of Austin is just over 15 miles away. If you live or love to boat or fish, Lake Travis is a few miles to the north on RR-620. Students living in Falconhead attend schools operated by the Lake Travis Independent School District.
