Up until that time all new non tract homes were being built on the northern side of the Colorado River so the theme name for the parade homes signaled a new phase in city growth. The Shady Hollow Homeowners Association was incorporated in 1978 to represent and protect the property owner and to keep Shady Hollow a desirable neighborhood to live in. Currently there are 1409 homes in Shady Hollow and an estimated 5000 people that live in the community. While driving through the Shady Hollow subdivision on several occasions lately, it was obvious that there was plenty of opposition to a proposal from T-Mobile to build a cell phone tower in the neighborhood. Shady Hollow has a large community center on Doe Run that houses the Homeowners Association business office. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9AM to 12PM and 2PM to 5PM. Shady Hollow publishes a monthly news letter through the HOA each month to keep the residents up to date on the association monthly board meetings and activities.
